Hello lovelies! How are things in your neck of the woods? Did you see Lu’s amazing centre pieces? Isn't she clever! Although I am slightly scared to put anything down in her house in case it gets spray painted……
Here in Two Crafty Brownieland things are hotting up…… we have been accepted at not one but two markets. Lu and I have dreamed of doing markets for a long time now. We have done them separately, but little did Lu know I was always dreaming of doing them together. But for so long, we didn't have any actual products, and there was so much else we needed to do…… We actually applied for a market a couple of months ago and were turned down. We knew it was likely because we had very little to show, and we decided to get our heads down, open that shop before we applied again.
So we are thrilled to have stalls at Bust Craftacular, one of our favourite events, and also at the gorgeous Sutton House (thanks to our lovely and very supportive friend G for alerting us to this one). If you live near enough, we would love, love, love to meet you! We have a 2 for 1 entry offer to Sutton House on the tab above, and if you are one of the first 10 people to tell us that you deserve a Brownie point at either, you will get a little free gift! Here's a little reminder of what we'll be selling....
Despite things being hectic, blog posts must be written, and today I am making some cards and gift tags. In my house we have a concept called ‘shopping at home’. You know when you go and buy something you already have? Shop at home first! I have so many craft supplies…...card, glitter paper, wrapping paper, and this year I'm going to try and save a little money by using some of these things up. I'm hoping to show you that with very little effort you can create some lovely personal cards/tags to send out this year.
What you need is
A selection of paper and glitter card. Some of my paper is Christmas wrapping paper from The Mothership, some came out of a magazine, and some came from Cass Art, one of our favourite shops for craft supplies
Blank cards and envelopes, mine are from this range
Scissors or cutting knife and mat
Double sided tape
Ruler
Hole punch
Ribbon or string
What you do is
Play with your paper and glitter to see what matches with what. I had great ideas of cutting out Christmassy shapes, but found I really loved layering simple rectangles on top of each other.
Measure the size you want your layers to be. For my cards, my bigger layer was 5” by 31/2” and my smaller top layer was 41/2 by 3”. For my tags, I first cut out the plain card and then decided what size to make my layers, I had two sizes for tags.
Cut your layers out and use double sided tape to stick them down.
For the tags, punch a hole in the corner and add ribbon.
How easy is that?
Ok, darlings, must dash.......markets to prepare for, you know! Have a lovely weekend,
Jenny xxxxx
Ooooooh - if only I lived close enough to come along! You have such lovely things to sell that I know they will be snapped up!!
Reading your card tutorial (another good one!) reminded me of all the card making supplies I have - yet I always seem to end up buying cards - I must schedule a card-making session sometime soon!!
Have a great weekend,Anne xx

Way to go on getting a slot at a market! (their flyer with all the kitties is cute) If it didn't require a trans-Atlantic flight, I'd come, too! ;)
Seeing all your tie-dye always makes me happy. I was a child/teen in the 60s/70s and love it. I remember using Rit Dye and rubber bands to transform white t-shirts into masterpieces. :)
I just know your market day will be a great success!
